The Instagram Top Posts API is a RESTful API designed to expose structured data about the most-liked Instagram posts. The API allows developers and analysts to query account names, ranks, owners, post descriptions, and other metadata. By splitting the dataset into specific endpoints, the API supports targeted queries rather than retrieving all data at once. It’s ideal for applications requiring lightweight data lookups, analytics, or integrations with social media trend analysis tools. Key features include filtering by account name, getting post rankings, and accessing detailed post information such as number of likes, dates, and captions. This API is built to be scalable, secure, and developer-friendly.

You can retrieve account names, post rankings, post owners, post descriptions, number of likes, dates, and captions for the most-liked Instagram posts.
The data is structured in a JSON format, allowing for easy parsing and integration into applications. Each post's details include fields such as account name, rank, owner, likes, date, and caption.
This API can be used for social media trend analysis, marketing analytics, content strategy development, and competitive analysis by identifying popular posts and engagement metrics.
You can filter the data by specifying account names to retrieve rankings and details for specific users, allowing for targeted queries rather than retrieving all posts at once.
The core value proposition lies in its ability to provide scalable, structured access to the most-liked Instagram posts, enabling developers and analysts to perform lightweight data lookups and enhance social media analytics.
The "get instagram account names" endpoint returns a list of account names. The "get rank and owner by name" endpoint provides the rank and owner of the most-liked post for a specified account. The "get most-liked post details by name" endpoint returns detailed information about a post, including likes, caption, and date.
Key fields include "account_names" for account names, "rank" and "owner" for post rankings, and "post description," "likes," "unit," and "date" for detailed post information. Each field provides specific insights into the most-liked posts.
The response data is organized in JSON format, with each endpoint returning an array of objects. Each object contains relevant fields, making it easy to parse and integrate into applications. For example, the detailed post information includes fields like "account," "post description," and "likes."
The primary parameter is the "account name," which is required for the "get rank and owner by name" and "get most-liked post details by name" endpoints. Users must specify a valid account name obtained from the "get instagram account names" endpoint to retrieve relevant data.
Users can customize requests by selecting specific account names to filter results. This allows for targeted queries, enabling users to focus on particular accounts of interest rather than retrieving all data, enhancing efficiency in data retrieval.
Typical use cases include analyzing social media trends, identifying popular content for marketing strategies, and conducting competitive analysis by examining engagement metrics of top posts from specific accounts.
Data accuracy is maintained through regular updates and quality checks on the dataset. The API sources data from verified Instagram posts, ensuring that the information retrieved reflects the most-liked posts accurately.
If an account name does not yield results, the API will return an empty array. Users should implement error handling in their applications to manage such cases gracefully, possibly by prompting users to check the account name or try another one.
